Cranel Inc. CFP Mike Tracy received two honors at the CFO of the Year Awards in Columbus OH.

COLUMBUS OH, Sept. 19 2011—Cranel Inc. CFO Mike Tracy recently was recognized at the Columbus Business First-sponsored CFO of the Year Awards held at the Hyatt Regency. Tracy received honorable mentions in two categories—Corporate CFO of the Year and Transaction of the Year. Cranel Inc. businesses provide industry-leading expertise in Enterprise Content Management, IT services and software for customer support teams.

In the corporate category, Tracy was cited as doing outstanding strategic and positioning work to prepare Cranel Inc. for its successful January 2011 spin-off of its ISOdx customer support software division. In addition, he was acknowledged for working with other management and outside customers during an extremely difficult economy to move his company into new product offerings and expand its top-line revenue while remaining focused on profitability.

“As a result of these efforts, the company experienced a 20 percent growth in top-line revenue and a 40 percent increase in net income for 2010,” said Chad Osler, senior manager at Plante and Moran in Columbus, the accounting firm for Cranel Inc.

According to Columbus First coverage, CFO of the Year judge Kerrii Anderson, former CFO and CEO of Wendy’s International Inc., called Tracy “a CFO who is focused on creating value.”

In the Transaction of the Year category, judges recognized Tracy for his leadership and strategic vision in orchestrating Cranel Inc.’s sale of its Adexis division in late 2009, which allowed the company to refocus on its core distributions business. Judges credited Tracy with creativity in the spinoff and well executed financing.

Tracy joined Cranel in September 2000. As chief financial officer, he directs all accounting, finance, IT and operations functions at Cranel. Prior to Cranel, he held senior financial management positions with The Mike An Group, MBA Marketing Corporation and Safelite Auto Glass. He also served as an auditor and manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. Tracy holds a CPA and is an alumnus of Miami University of Ohio.

The annual CFO of the Year Awards Program honors financial professionals in Central Ohio for outstanding performance in their roles as financial stewards at profit-making and nonprofit enterprises. Featured keynote speaker was Robert Kidder, former Chrysler Group LLC Chairman.
